You know, in the past I have said or implied that men who play stepdaddy to single mothers are simps, that’s a misconception. A homie & my mentor had me thinking about that post I put up on Facebook the other day. The one where I said men who date single moms were simps (Has since been deleted).
I thought my homie considered his step-pop a simp for marrying his mom, & playing step-dad to him (his real father abandoned him & his step pop took him in as his own). After talking with my homie, I found out he didn’t consider his step-pop a simp because he dated his mom, he considered him a simp because his step-pop has simp tendencies, as he said, referred to his pops as being completely henpecked. He still looks at his step-pop as his real dad though.
You’re not a simp automatically because you date single mothers. You are settling, though.
A guy isn’t a simp just because he dates single mothers. A simp is a guy that places himself in a subservient position to a woman. Dating a single mother, without having children of your own, is lowering your standards. However, you haven’t placed her above you yet.
I hope going forward I cleared things up for those of y’all still juggling with this mentally. Also kinda map it, blueprint this in other areas of your life. Especially those of you who believe a man can be a simp if he’s dating a woman who has an onlyfans. What is his intent? Did he have simp tendencies? Something to think about.
Just to further illustrate my post from last night. This man right here, Robin Harris would qualify as a simp playing stepdaddy. His whole intent was to win shawty over for some ass. He met shawty at a funeral & she told Robin if he wanted to get with her, he had to take her out AND her homegirl’s kids. Like BRUH? This mane didn’t even have any kids & shawty was just a secretary.
