Netflix’s Resident Isn’t Bad and Richard Baxter Is a Bad Ass

I’m watching Resident Evil on Netflix and I gotta say;

This Dude Richard Baxter Is a Bad Ass.

First off, I thought the show was good before he popped up, and he made the show better as it went on.

Second, I think audiences that don’t like it, dislike the fact that Wesker is Black.

Lance Reddick as Wesker

While the main character is a Black woman named Jade, I don’t think they dislike the show because of her, but I wouldn’t put it past racist to feel some type of way about that either.

She’s an annoying main character. While she has her badass moments as well, her bratty younger self is just so annoying. I guess that’s what it’s like to be a teenage cunt 🤷🏿‍♂️.

I’m only 4 episodes in, and I believe she probably caused a lot of trouble for everyone, as a kid.

Anyway, about the show so far.

Update: Yep, she definitely caused a lot of trouble for everyone.

I grew up playing the original resident evil, so all that “die-hard RE fans” bullshit, you can shove it. From the first RE all the way to the RE 3 Nemesis remake.

The show is its own story, it’s not taking from the original resident evil. There are easter eggs and nods to the games, like the dogs from RE 1, the giant gator, worms, & spiders from RE 2 & RE 3, chainsaw guy from RE 4, trenchcoat Wesker from RE 5, hunters, ada, etc etc.

The show creators aren’t retelling the same raccoon city outbreak story.

Also, these are fictional characters, who cares about Wesker not being white? White people change the race of people in real history all the time or make one up that never existed just so they can have a white savior complex.

The movies actually used source material and they go from average to suck, once again, this one is its own plot.
When they create their own plots, like resident evil degeneration, damnation, and vendetta, they make good movies (or shows if you count infinite darkness).

I’ve never seen Wesker in the light he’s in, which makes his character interesting. It’s after the events of raccoon city.

They hint at raccoon city’s plot, they even talk about the nuke, but they go back to their own plot and main characters.

I was skeptical at first too, but I just gave it a chance. I mean the ads showed me the main characters are mostly female-focused with 1 male lead & none of the other resident evil characters I’ve known throughout the years, asking me to watch a show based on that is asking a lot from me. I tend not to watch a show where they make characters a different race because it’s usually on some woke bullshit.
Weaker is black in this one. You’d think with all the genetic manipulation that it’s possible within a resident evil universe, and you’d disregard that he’s Black.

Anyway, that’s my take on the show.
