Five Years After the Instagram Live Fight, the Court Finally Settled It

DaBaby and DaniLeigh signed a 13-page agreement settling custody and child support for their 5-year-old daughter, Velour. DaBaby pays monthly child support. The amount stays undisclosed.

That is the whole ending. Five years of public war, 13 pages of paper, and nobody gets to see the number.

The court fight started in 2024, when DaniLeigh filed a paternity case. She told the court she was Velour’s primary caregiver and asked for monthly support. DaBaby pushed back on her account. He told the court he had been involved in his daughter’s life since birth, and asked the court to establish his paternity and award joint custody.

Neither side has made the custody arrangement public. The check is monthly. The split of time is private. The court has the details. The internet does not.

The backstory is the part everybody remembers. November 2021, three months after Velour was born, the breakup played out on Instagram Live. DaBaby called police to his Charlotte home while DaniLeigh was caring for their infant daughter. Police charged her with two counts of simple assault after DaBaby accused her of attacking him.

The fight did not end there. Her brother, Brandon Bills, fought DaBaby at a Los Angeles bowling alley in 2022. Bills sued. That civil case settled in June 2026.

September told the rest of the story without a word. Both parents showed up for Velour’s fashion event at Macy’s Herald Square in New York. They posed with her separately. Not together. Separately.

That is what five years buys. Two parents in the same room for their daughter, still not in the same picture.

A livestream fight becomes a court case. A court case becomes 13 pages. 13 pages becomes a monthly check nobody will name. The relationship is over. The co-parenting is the rest of her childhood.

A man does not win a custody fight by being loud on live. He wins it by showing up, paying what the court says, and keeping the child out of the war. The paper is signed. The check is monthly. The daughter is five. That is the standard now.
