Hailey Glassman has a story that flips the usual script completely around.
The Real Housewives of New York City newcomer told Page Six she paid her ex Jon Gosselin’s child support “for a very long time” while he was divorcing Kate Gosselin. Her words on getting it back: “Never got paid back, but it’s OK, Jon! I know you’re working through it. I love you forever.”
A 2010 Radar report put a number on part of it: she allegedly loaned Jon $88,000 in October 2009.
How they got there is its own story. She met Jon through her father, a plastic surgeon who had performed Kate’s tummy tuck. At her mother’s encouragement, she started dating Jon in June 2009 — the same month he and Kate announced their separation on national television. She was 22. He was 32, a father of eight walking out of the most public divorce on TV. They lived together in New York. She says they dated “a lot longer” than people think.
Strip away the famous names and this is a story every man in the audience has seen up close: a woman pays a man’s obligations, calls it love, and waits for a payback that never arrives. The only difference is the cameras were on.
She’s laughing about it now. But “never got paid back” is the whole story in four words. Loyalty without a receipt is just a donation with feelings attached.
He got the money. She got the lesson.
