All Eyez on Me: Review

Is watching: All Eyez on Me

Demetrius Shipp Jr. Looks just like Tupac. He did his thing as Pac. I feel like everybody did their thing. Kat Graham as Jada, Danai as Afeni, Jamal as Big, Dominic as Suge, Jarrett Ellis as Snoop. After looking it up, (because I was curious if Snoop narrated Jarrett’s parts) Snoop did infant narrate. Otherwise, I think Jarrett did a very solid impression of Snoop.

This wasn’t bad, however, I did kinda see how the “script feels like it was ripped off of Wikipedia” from the Rolling stones review. Didn’t feel like they put much effort into the musical parts of the movie.

They could have pulled from that for the script. Women that came to see him in prison, other relationships he had with people. More depth to a complex rapper. It really does feel like the script was made off of Wikipedia because they could have talked to his sister to get an understanding of his everyday life dealing with his drug-addicted mother, what it was like when they moved to California. I’m glad we didn’t see this man dancing in underwear like when he was with Digital Underground, skip that shit, but there could have been more. Like when he shot the 2 cops or when he was arrested for J walking. Pac didn’t seem like a guy who was afraid of anybody, but he was scared of Suge?

Also, as far as his deal with Deathrow…

Pac could have bought himself out of his contract with Death Row if his paper wasn’t everywhere. Legal fees & family, things that came with his deal & house. An amount needed to buy himself out. It seems he didn’t understand the business side of the music industry but wanted to go off on his own. Suge kept everything he did financially for Pac on the books, Pac should have been learning that. Also, people writing the script could have pulled from the Tupac Resurrection, he talked about death a lot. Having him sitting & thinking about getting shot could have been included. They could have listened to his music. They failed on that part.

Tupac: Resurrection

Finally the end of the movie…

I’m never prepared for his death. If I read it or hear about it, watch it in a movie, etc, it just hurts. I rate the movie a 6/10 because they were decent parts. The acting was spot on, the script just hindered everything.
