You ever notice how Black men been practicing Stoicism without even knowing it? Not that “turn the other cheek” kind — I’m talking pragmatic Stoicism.
The kind you build when you’re hated by racists on one side and betrayed by those who should’ve had your back on the other.
Because let’s be real — once certain women got their own money, homes, and cars, they didn’t use that freedom to build with us. They used it to betray us.
You hear them in those Twitter spaces cozying up to racists, encouraging harm against Black men like it’s nothing. That’s not empowerment — that’s treason.
So we adapt. We move pragmatic.
We don’t beg for love from people who proudly disowned us.
We protect our peace, our purpose, and our power.
We’re not philosophers sitting in marble halls — we’re Stoics forged in struggle, walking through fire with a steady face.
Because real Stoicism ain’t silence — it’s strategy.
And real pragmatism ain’t weakness — it’s survival.
